veronica NFOpad command line parameters 2018-03-13 14:18:00
In a .bat file, the command "start NFOPad.exe myTestFile.txt" makes NFOPad open myTestFile.txt. Does exist a command line parameter to specify a settings file ? Es, "start NFOPad.exe myTestFile.txt mySettings.ini"

Hi, no it does not, however if an ini file is placed in the same dir as nfopad it will be used instead of the one in AppData.

What is your use case for specifying an ini file on the command line?

Thanks for your reply! I love NFOPad because (1) it's blazing fast and (2) his settings.ini is really simple to configure. Therefore, in my scripting framework (at the present moment, under Win Xp), I use it in the following, self explanatory, way to create dialog windows and show log file:

if cond == True
type messageOK > dummyFile.txt
copy normalTermination.ini settings.ini
start NFOPad dummyFile.txt

if cond == False
type messageOhNo > dummyFile.txt
copy abNormalTermination.ini settings.ini
start NFOPad dummyFile.txt

It would be more comfortable something like this:

if cond == True
type messageOK > dummyFile.txt
start NFOPad dummyFile.txt normalTermination.ini

if cond == False
type messageOhNo > dummyFile.txt
start NFOPad dummyFile.txt abNormalTermination.ini

Bye!

Good to hear you like the program, I don't think your use case is very common but I will look into this for the next version, thanks for the feedback!
