Sam Run from command line 2011-07-01 10:44:59
Is it possible to run this from command line and set the export directory.

I want to run this on my server as a scheduled task and publish the file List to my webserver directory.

Is that possible ?

Sorry for a very delayed answer.

In fact, yes, it is possible however you cannot set any options on the command line. You can only choose between one of the configured available listings and what directory to list. You need to check in the registry to perform this so it's not for beginners.

The command line to run is as follows:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Filelister\filelister.exe" Z1ihW6iJ "%1"

Where %1 is the folder you want to list and the strange combination of letters is the ID of one of your available list options. To find out what IDs you have to choose from, check the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Filelister using regedit. The name of the folders in there are IDs and the default string entry of each folder show the name of the list.

Best regards

I sent an email with a feature request a few days ago but I went ahead and scripted it with a batch file in the meantime once I found this message on the forum. It was the ID that was getting me caught up until I found this.

Anyway, what I am doing is posting my movies list to dropbox where I can privately share that one file with others. My problem is that this sits on a server that I update files over the network but don't log onto the server in my basement very often to access the GUI.

In case it will help anyone else, here is the code that I put together (it is very basic I know and there are better ways to do it, but this works).

@rem First we need to clean up the old HTML files
cd D:\Dropbox\Movies\
del /F /Q *.html

@rem Now we want to create our
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Filelister\filelister.exe" 7VYQKsfu "H:\"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Filelister\filelister.exe" 7VYQKsfu "D:\Movies\"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Filelister\filelister.exe" 7VYQKsfu "F:\Stuff\dvd-r\"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Filelister\filelister.exe" 7VYQKsfu "E:\TV\"

@rem Now we are going to Call the batch file for concantination
copy /y "D:\Dropbox\Movies\List of dvd-r.html"+"D:\Dropbox\Movies\List of H.html"+"D:\Dropbox\Movies\List of movies.html"+"D:\Dropbox\Movies\List of TV.html" D:\Dropbox\Movies\my_movies.html

@rem I have this in here to wait 10 seconds before deleting source html documents (optional)
PING localhost -n 10 >nul

@rem Now clean up those old HTML files (optional)
cd D:\Dropbox\Movies\
del /F /Q List*.html
